Insider Tips for your Wedding Planning Timline

Posted on

Christmas Day is THE day to get engaged ranking in the top spot for those beautiful proposals. For those of you that found something a little sparkly under the tree and are on the hugest of highs then we have spoken to some of the best in the business to gain insider knowledge of things to build into your planning.

Gifting

First up is making sure that you have the perfect crew with you on your day, from your little ones to your Bridesmaids.  Here @matchimony we have you covered with beautiful personalised ‘Will You Be My Bridesmaid’ boxes through to dressing gowns for children and adults alike.    They are ready to go in a few days and so we can be with you for the whole of the wedding planning journey.

Capturing the perfect moment

Photography is vital and finding someone who understands you, your vibe and will capture the moments you want is right up there on your list, second to maybe only your venue! If you want the best then take advice of @sophieannphotography and book ASAP. Bookings can be taken 2+ years in advance, particularly for Fridays/Saturdays and in the summer months. If you find a photographer you like then register your interest with them quickly then if other enquiries come through then they will have you in mind.

Whilst we are on it make sure that Videography is not forgotten! Videos are an incredible way to capture the true emotion of your day to show generations to come but are often left to the last minute.   Some of the best work we have seen from recent shoots is by the amazing @russellkentnicholls and to get skills like that you need to book the same time as photography.

Looking and feeling your best

Having had the pleasure of working with some of the finest Hair and make up artists in the business who really listen to what a bride wants for her day, but to get the industry best then start planning early, like 18 months early! Lee from @leeodmua  recommends booking in your MUA asap once your wedding date is confirmed whilst @bridalhairbyjennie recommends also booking your hair stylist at the same time and with both ensure you check their portfolios extensively to check that you are loving their work.

The perfect ethical floral

To get the best sustainable floral look for your wedding then speak to those in the know like @kateaveryflowers who recommends booking 12-18 months in advance and using seasonal flowers and herbs in bouquets and plants and foliage in décor so that they can be gifted at the end too.

Personalising your look

Often the touches that make the day truly unique to you are often left until the last minute but move these beauties up the list to be a priority for your look! Such as these incredible custom printed bridal jackets from @sammyleasretro, but did you know to get something this customised and original you do need to be thinking about 4 months out from your wedding day and factoring it into your planning timeline? Add it to your list now and work with these talented lovelies to create something just for you.

Or what about a veil or heapiece with a difference? The creatively different @peacock_and_pearl can create a huge array of options in different colour ways,or maybe even with a splash of pom-poms?!

What about MY dress?

Traditionally wedding dresses need to be ordered 12 months in advance, well at Matchimony we like to do things a little differently and have created a boutique collection of Bridal Dresses and Two-pieces that can be customised and made in 2 months. Yes you heard right, 2 months, and available in over 40 colours to create something custom sized and starting at £100 it’a a cost effective way to be uniquely truly you. So if you have left it a little longer, or want to hold off on getting your dress until closer to your date then speak to us to see how we can help!

Obviously the list could go on and on but these are some priorities and fun things to factor in.

Happy wedding planning and we are so excited to be with you the whole way.

Matchimony xx
